Which car seat should I use for my baby?

Car seats for our children are intended to protect them from potential collisions and make trips safer and more comfortable. Rear-facing seats have been on the market for a few years now, which are said to be safer, but what does the law say?

The general traffic regulations don't state that children must ride facing forward or rearward; they only establish that their car seat must be approved and adapted to their height and weight. Furthermore, the DGT recommends traveling in rear-facing seats as much as possible. So, what car seat options are available?
- Group 0 → the baby will weigh a maximum of 10kg, which is equivalent to 9 months of age, and they can travel crosswise (carrycots) or rear-facing.
- Group 0+ → the maximum weight is 13kg, which is equivalent to 15 months, and they must ride rear-facing.
- Group 1 → the weight is minimum 9kg and maximum 13kg (from 8 months to 3-4 years). In the chairs of this group we already find seats facing forward and backward.
- Group 2 → the weight is between 15kg and 25kg (from 3 to 7 years old) and they are installed facing forward
- Group 3 → between 22 and 36 kg, equivalent to ages 6 to 12, and facing forward. Therefore, we as parents must consider our child's safety and comfort, so we will choose the seat that best suits them, following the law and choosing the best for our little one.
